February 25, 2020
STUART, FL – VITAS Healthcare presented a check for $25,000 to Volunteers in Medicine Clinic (VIM) on February 19, 2020. As a new end-of-life care provider in the Treasure Coast, VITAS is demonstrating its dedication to the community by partnering with VIM through a two-year grant agreement.
“Our partnership with Volunteers in Medicine Clinic further underscores our commitment to improving quality of care for patients nearing the end of life, as well as for the community at large,” said Susan Acocella, general manager for VITAS Healthcare. “Just as VITAS is proud to deliver hospice care to most our patients at no out-of-pocket expense, we look forward to working with an organization similarly dedicated to serving those without means to afford care.”
VIM serves as a healthcare safety net for uninsured residents of Martin County. VIM's services are delivered on a fully volunteer basis and rely on community partners to support their expenses.
