Memorial Day is a federal holiday to honor those who have served, sacrificed and died to make sure that all Americans remain free. Celebrated in 2019 on Monday, May 27, Memorial Day ensures that no serviceman’s or servicewoman’s service is forgotten.

While families and friends take time on Memorial Day to remember their loved ones who served, many veterans on this day reminisce, remember and consider how their military service and experiences impacted their lives, emotional health, futures and outlook, especially as they age.

At VITAS, our ongoing commitment to veterans and their families is evident in our participation in We Honor Veterans, a special program developed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
