“Healthcare professionals throughout Florida depend on VITAS as a resource for terminally ill patients and their families when curative care is no longer assuring quality of life. We look forward to offering our services to the Lake-Sumter community,” said Patty Husted, EVP for VITAS in Florida and Georgia.

Madsen joined VITAS in 1996 as a home care nurse. She earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Palm Beach College in Lake Worth.

“I am honored to be part of this community and look forward to improving access to hospice and palliative care services for Lake and Sumter residents,” said Madsen, a certified hospice and palliative care administrator. “We are building a team of healthcare and support professionals who will put their heart and soul into improving the quality of life for patients and families.
