National Hispanic Heritage Month 2017
09/15/2017
Every year, National Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes the contributions, the rich histories and cultures of the Hispanic and Latino communities in the United States, who trace their ancestry to Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and the Spanish-speaking countries of Central and South America.
VITAS Understands Hispanic Customs and Beliefs
At VITAS, we believe that the values and cultures of our patients and families should be reflected by those of their caregivers to assure a more meaningful end-of-life experience.
That is why we employ a diverse, bilingual staff that understands the nuances of family, faith, grief and death in Spanish cultures, and why we forge strong relationships with organizations that serve the Hispanic community.
VITAS is an active participant in the Hispanic communities we serve, sponsoring charity events, conducting educational conferences and advocating for hospice patients and their families. We are committed to making compassionate end-of-life care available to every Hispanic family who needs it.
