How do I register for a VITAS CEU and/or CME webinar?

Registering for a VITAS webinar is easy. Simply access www.vitas.com and navigate to the section titled Earn Continuing Education Credits for Training in End-of-Life Care, then choose a webinar. Once on the webinar page, click Register and complete the online form.

You must fill out the registration form in its entirety (include first Name, Last Name, Email Address, etc). Each attendee must register individually to receive credit as only the name of the participant signed in will be eligible.

Once the form is completed, you’ll receive an attendance link within 24 hours. You must use the provided link to attend the webinar. If you do not receive the attendance link, please check your spam folder. You may need to add Webinars@VITAS.com to your approved senders list to prevent the email from going to the spam folder.

If you require an accommodation for a disability, please email us at Webinars@VITAS.com.

Why am I unable to submit the registration form after completing it?

Your computer might have a stored, or “cached,” version of the previous form. Please try to refresh the page, or try completing the form in a private or incognito window of your browser. If you are completing the registration at your workplace, your company’s IT security might also be blocking your completion; please try on your own device at home or off your company’s internet network.

Who can attend a VITAS CEU / CME webinar?

Webinar information can be useful to physicians, physician assistants, nurses, social workers, case workers, chaplains, dietitians, nurse’s aides, and others who want to know more about end‐of‐life issues for their patients with advanced illness.

What do I need to participate in a webinar?

Attendees will need a computer or mobile device with a strong Wifi or Data network connection. We offer our webinars through Zoom, which has a website and a mobile app. After you register with your name, email, organization, and job title, you will receive an email with a link to click to join and view the webinar at the time and date stated. You may need headphones if the sound is likely to disturb those around you.

How do I join the webinar?

After you register with your name, email, organization and job title, you will receive an email with a link to click to join and view the webinar at the time and date stated. This email will contain a link for joining the webinar, along with a calendar invite to add to the event to your calendar. At the specified webinar start time, click the link and enter the passcode. You will be placed into the webinar. If prompted to enter a display name, please enter your full name. Upon entry, attendees are automatically muted.

Does it cost anything to participate?

No, VITAS webinars are free of cost.

Who is eligible for CME webinars?

Continuing Medical Education (CME) coursework is for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. CMEs are offered only for specified webinars when VITAS partners with another accreditation provider. Attendance is monitored, and attendees must be present for the entire online webinar, as well as complete a brief online survey in order to receive their CME credit. Attendees must sign in using the same email they used to register. Attendees must be signed in to the webinar to view the slides in order to be eligible to receive credit. Attendees who dial in only will not receive credit. Survey completion is required to receive credit and certificate of completion.

How do I get my certificate for CE and CME credit?

Following the webinar — after the attendee has viewed and listened to the entire session — a pop-up containing the survey link will appear. Please ensure that your pop-up blocker is turned off. Attendees will need to complete the survey within five (5) business days in order to receive their credit. Attendees will be able to download a certificate of completion from the final page of the survey.

How often does VITAS offer webinars?

At least once a month. You can find the webinar schedule by accessing www.vitas.com and navigating to the section titled Earn Continuing Education Credits for Training in End-of-Life Care.

What time is the webinar?

The registration page, along with the registration confirmation email you receive, will contain the start time of the live webinar. It is usually written in Eastern Time (ET). The webinar starts at the same time for attendees anywhere in the United States. Attendees will need to adjust the start time based on their local time zone.

If I can’t make the scheduled time, can I watch the webinar later?

No. Our webinars are only offered as live sessions; you cannot watch them later on-demand. However, you can review the slides presented by accessing previous continuing education webinar materials. Please note that continuing education (CE) credit is not available for this method.

Can I review the content from a past webinar?

If you want to review the content that was presented in a past webinar, you can do so by accessing previous continuing education webinar materials. Reviewing the slides after a webinar is only for personal use and will not be eligible for any CE or CME credit. Credits are only awarded for full participation (Zoom attendance, viewing slides, and survey completion) at the time of the webinar as outlined in the sections above.
