VITAS Healthcare Earns the 2024 Hospice CAHPS Honors Award

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL – The compassionate care and exceptional hospice services VITAS Healthcare provides patients and their families in Fairview Heights, Illinois, has earned the 2024 Hospice CAHPS Honors Award. HEALTHCAREfirst bestows this honor to acknowledge the highest-performing hospices among the nation’s best providers.
To select winners, HEALTHCAREfirst analyzes the performance of satisfaction measures as expressed in Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (CAHPS) surveys measuring quality of care for patients and compassionate caregiver experiences. Responses are based on consistently going above and beyond in providing high-quality care and a standard of excellence. This honor indicates that VITAS care teams offer an outstanding experience for hospice patients and their families throughout southwestern Illinois.

Hospice CAHPS Honors is a prestigious program by HEALTHCAREfirst that recognizes hospices delivering the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view. Because families often choose hospice providers for their loved ones, they rely on the quality-of-care measures captured by CAHPS surveys.
The VITAS Fairview Heights team proudly accepted their Hospice Honors 2024 certificate for outstanding patient and caregiver experience.
The VITAS team in Fairview Heights was also recognized in 2022 with the Hospice CAHPS Honors Elite award under Wolf’s leadership. The associated service area includes Jefferson, Fayette, Green, Madison, Saint Clair, Monroe, Clinton, Randolph, Macoupin, Montgomery, Jersey, Perry, Bond and Washington counties.
Since 2010, VITAS has been serving patients and families throughout southwestern Illinois, primarily in their homes and assisted living centers, providing compassionate hospice care, pain and symptom management and psychosocial support through the end of life.
