Our Culture of Compliance Begins with People
Ethical and legal conduct at VITAS is a matter of both personal responsibility and corporate culture. It began with our founding in 1978, because the people drawn to caring for the dying are the people drawn to doing the right thing. In 1995, years before the Office of the Inspector General published its hospice guidelines, VITAS wrote its own compliance policy to address risk areas and ethical conduct in the provision of reliable, safe and quality end-of-life care; it guides us today.
VITAS has built a robust compliance program on this solid foundation. It helps channel good intentions into organizational practices that assure a commitment to integrity at all levels of our company.
- Patients and families come first.
- We take care of each other.
- I’ll do my best today and do even better tomorrow.
- I am proud to make a difference.
