The VITAS medical director has the overall responsibility for medical direction of the care and treatment of the patients and their families rendered by the hospice care team. Qualified candidates must have knowledge of the principles and practice of primary medical care, with at least a working knowledge of oncology, license to practice medicine in Florida and board certification in a medical specialty which deals with care of the terminally ill.
Patient Care Administrator, RN
The VITAS patient care administrator oversees the clinical and financial operations of the multidisciplinary staff and ensures care is provided to the ultimate satisfaction of patients and their families. To qualify for the position, candidates must have four (4) years of management, two (2) years of home health experience, a BSN degree and a current state of Florida RN license.
Registered Nurse (RN)
The VITAS RN is responsible for initiating the appropriate intervention and support for our patients and families and provides a continuously appropriate, comprehensive and responsive plan of care. To qualify for the position, candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse and a current state of Florida RN license.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
The VITAS LPN evaluates the needs of patients and families and provides direct skilled bedside nursing care to our patients according to the plan of care under the supervision of a registered nurse. To qualify for the position, candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience and a current state of Florida LPN license.
Home Health Aide (HHA)
The VITAS home health aide is a certified nursing assistant (CNA) or certified home health aide (CHHA) who provides personal care and services to VITAS patients to augment the care given by family members. To qualify for the position, candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care experience and a current certification.
Social Worker, MSW
The VITAS social worker supports the psychosocial well-being of our patients and families by defining social service goals for alleviating problems, and providing the counseling and casework needed to meet these goals. To qualify for the position, candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of social service experience in a health-care setting or social service agency and a master of social work degree.
Veterans Community Liaison
The VITAS veterans community liaison develops early and appropriate referrals by creating and sustaining business partnerships with referral sources in the veteran community. To qualify for the position, candidates must be a military veteran. Previous health-care sales or service and a bachelor’s degree preferred.
The VITAS sales representative develops business partnerships by making effective VITAS contacts and presentations in order to generate early and appropriate referrals. Qualified candidates must have at least three (3) years experience, along with a proven record of accomplishments, in direct sales and marketing in a healthcare environment. Bachelor's degree preferred.
