Honoring Dedicated Volunteers

VITAS Healthcare was a spotlight sponsor at the Children’s Bereavement Center’s (CBC) annual signature event, “Rockin’ on the Green” on Saturday, April 2. The night which benefitted grieving children and families, commenced with a live auction of vacation trips, fine wines and luxury items. An award ceremony honoring dedicated CBC volunteers and supporters, including VITAS Healthcare Senior Vice President of Operations Mary Zalaznik, was the highlight of the evening. Gourmet delights and cocktails were served throughout the night as live music was performed by Sekond Nature.

Through its six year partnership with the CBC, VITAS’ specially trained bereavement specialists, also called facilitators, lead peer support groups for children, parents and caregivers. These groups help children and families cope with their loss and relieve the sense of isolation they may be feeling by enabling them to share their personal experiences in an environment where they feel most comfortable.

VITAS knows that children need special guidance after losing loved ones, and is proud to partner with the CBC to provide bereavement support to grieving children and their families throughout South Florida.
