VITAS Texas Hospice TESTIMONIALS

Testimonials are a way for family members to share their thanks for VITAS’ role in their loved ones’ hospice care.*

To the wonderful people of VITAS,
Words cannot express my gratitude for all the wonderful care you provided for my husband. I would never have been able to keep him at home without your help. Everyone who came to our home was so positive, gentle, professional and caring. You all made the last months of my husband’s life so much better and richer.

I have never met caregivers as unfailingly cheerful, calm, caring and professional as all of you are. My special thanks go to Priscilla Trujillo, who made my husband look forward to Monday, Wednesday and Friday, bath days.

The people who stayed 24 hours a day for the last few days of my husband’s life were especially comforting.

Your literature on the end of life was very well written and helpful. If you ever need a recommendation for you services, I hope you call on me.

My husband was buried at Ft. Sam Houston where I shall join him someday. Again, my thanks for all you did for my husband and me.

May God be with you always,
Patricia G.

Dealing with our Mom’s death was made a whole lot easier with VITAS there. They were able to contact us in time for us to get to the facility and our Mom’s bedside to say our last goodbyes and keep our promise that we would walk with her and hold her hand as long as we were able before giving her hand to God. Thank God for VITAS.

I just had to write to let you know how much help VITAS was for my family and me. They cared for my husband in a very kind way. After he passed away, they were so thoughtful in helping me get arrangements made for him. I was so numb and overwhelmed at the time. I needed a guiding, helping hand that the loving folks at VITAS provided. Now, while I’m still dealing with the loss of my husband, I am still being cared for by these wonderful people. … I do not know what I would have done without their support, care and guidance through this most difficult time of my life. L’Cena Bateman was so helpful in getting things organized for my husband. I just made a phone call, and she jumped into action. … She cared for him in such a loving way when I was unable to do anything due to my being overwhelmed and literally sick at the moment he passed away. … Please convey my deepest appreciation to the people who helped me in my darkest hour. Thank you for doing what I could not do.

Thank you so much for the 100th birthday party for our mother. I haven’t seen her so happy as that weekend. Your efforts are very much appreciated. It made it so much easier to leave when we had to go home.

On behalf of my brother, sisters and cousins, I want to thank you all for the care and love that you gave our aunt during the last few moments of her life.

I’m sure that there were times that she challenged you, but I know that after you had a chance to get to know her, you grew to love her as much as we did. She was a very special lady, and your team did so much to care for her and provide for her during some very challenging times. I especially want to thank L’Cena Bateman who was so wonderful about keeping us informed and helping us through tough decisions.

It takes a very special talent to be able to care for people who are in the last stages of their lives. We know that you are all very special and are so grateful for the patience and love that you gave out aunt.

Sincerely,
Teresa T.

Hola,
Thank you so much for all you’ve done for my mother. We really appreciate your help and the kindness shown to us in our time of sadness.

You provided food for us for Thanksgiving and other times this year. We wouldn’t have had as wonderful a meal without your help! You all mean so much to us, and we feel like we have a wonderful new family. If I can help you in any way, please let me know.

God bless you all! Have a blessed Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year!

Dear Leigh,
On behalf of my family, I want to thank you for your care, compassion and responsiveness during our mother’s final two weeks on this Earth under hospice care.

You have a unique and special gift to care and provide support to patients and families. I am grateful you connected with my dad and so tenderly comforted him during some very tearful moments.

We are rejoicing with our Lord Jesus, thankful he called her home and she is now no longer in pain or suffering. We delight in the fact that we all have the hope and promise from Jesus that we will be reunited with her again.

Thank you also for your expediency the morning of January 21. Once again, your care and compassion ministered to the entire family. Bless you!

Gratefully yours,
Lisa B.
