Hospice Care for Cincinnati, Dayton and Southwest Ohio
Hospice care from VITAS is available in Greater Cincinnati and all of Southwest Ohio. We serve patients and their families in Butler, Warren, Clinton, Hamilton, Clermont, Brown, Adams and Highland counties.
At our inpatient hospice unit at The Drake Center as well as hospitals and other healthcare facilities, patients who can’t be cared for adequately at home receive palliative care and other support services until they can return home. In addition to expert clinical care, VITAS offers holistic approaches to end-of-life care, including pet, music, art and massage therapy.
VITAS provides hospice services in the Dayton area for patients and their families in Champaign, Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties.
Someone nearing the end of life wants the familiarity
of home and the comforting presence of family and
loved ones. At VITAS, we have developed the services,
resources and solutions to help ensure that our patients
in the Dayton area can remain at home.
Our Hospice Care & Services
Rather than bring patients to us, we take our services to them. We help our patients stay in their homes whenever possible, bringing comfort and care to them in long-term care facilities, hospitals or assisted living communities. No matter where care takes place, we coordinate closely with physicians, caregivers, spiritual advisors, families and friends to ensure patients’ optimal well-being.
At VITAS, we provide customized care plans sensitive to veterans’ unique physical and mental health needs at the end of life. Our veteran’s liaison helps to identify veterans’ needs and coordinate benefits they are entitled to. We are a local sponsor of Honor Flight, which assists local veterans in seeing their memorials in Washington, D.C.
Our program has achieved the premier Level-Four Partner status in the “We Honor Veterans” program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
