Telecare is VITAS' way to ensure that you get the advice and care you need for your loved one regardless of the time of day. Telecare is a national VITAS service that fields telephone calls in the evenings during the week and 24 hours a day on weekends and major holidays when VITAS offices are closed.
The Telecare team is comprised of VITAS nurses and patient care secretaries. Whether you have a question about a medication, want to report that your loved one has pain or need help with medical equipment, Telecare can help.
The Telecare nursing staff has access to all of the patient's medication records. And Telecare works closely with the patient’s hospice team. They have access to on-call staff from the patient’s program. Nurses, chaplains and social workers can be sent to address patient concerns—whether it’s 5:45 on a Monday night or midnight on New Year’s Eve.
