Jim Chason, RN, Promoted to Patient Care Administrator for New Kissimmee Satellite Office of VITAS Innovative Hospice Care® of Central Florida

Orlando, Florida, July 24, 2007 – H. James Chason, RN, has been promoted to patient care administrator for VITAS Innovative Hospice Care® of Central Florida. In this new role, Chason will oversee VITAS’ two patient care teams in its new Kissimmee satellite office, with responsibility for ensuring the ultimate satisfaction of patients and their families. The VITAS patient care administrator is responsible for communications, quality of patient care services, employee and customer satisfaction and financial management.

Chason joined VITAS in 1999 as a hospice nurse and received the Central Florida program’s award for Outstanding Customer Service in 2000. He was promoted to team manager in 2001. As team manager, Chason captained his team through a period of tremendous growth as it grew to care for more than 100 patients and their families. In 2004, he was named the Central Florida program’s Team Manager of the Year.

Prior to joining VITAS, Chason served as assistant Director of Nursing for Lake Eustis Care Center in Eustis, Florida. Before that, he was a nurse and shift supervisor for rehabilitation centers in Orlando and Menomenee Falls, Wisconsin.

Chason earned an RN degree from Waukesha County Technical College in Waukesha, Wisconsin
