  • VITAS provided 5,249,820 days of care in 2013.
  • VITAS provided almost $10.2 million in genuine charity care to hospice patients nationwide in 2013 . This represents an average of 1 percent of our gross revenues—a ratio that few, if any, hospice providers can match.
  • VITAS currently fields 289 patient care teams across the country.
  • As part of our patient care teams, VITAS employs 2,500 hospice aides, 4,310 registered nurses and licensed practical nurses/licensed vocational nurses, 343 social workers, 329 chaplains and 417 physicians.
  • The 4,011 VITAS volunteers contributed 379,180 hours during 2013.
