VITAS Innovative
Hospice Care® of
Grief Support
(as of April 2008)
We at VITAS
understand this may be a difficult time for you, and you may find it helpful to
talk to someone about your feelings or practical needs related to your loss. In
our groups, we honor confidentiality and we are respectful of all persons. We
strive to create a warm, safe and comfortable environment for each group.
Why a support group?
Support groups can
help you identify the normal signs and symptoms of grief, increase your
understanding of the grieving process, develop helpful coping strategies, gain
strength and insight from shared experiences of group members, and develop a
supportive network.

VITAS Circle of Friendship
The purpose of these
gatherings is to bring together people who have lost loved ones and who are
seeking support from others going through a similar experience.
Each Circle of
Friendship meets at a local restaurant that provides us with a private space. We
order from the regular menu and pay for our own meals. We enjoy the company of
others, listen and talk with each other and are reminded that we are not alone.
