VITAS Innovative Hospice Care® has been caring for Illinois patients near the end of life and their families since 1988. Today our five Illinois programs care for approximately 900 patients every day from offices in Chicago, Tinley Park, LaSalle, Fairview Heights and Lombard.

VITAS (pronounced VEE-tahss) brings hospice to the home, whether that is a private residence, hospital, nursing home or assisted living community. If care is required outside the home, VITAS has inpatient hospice units in Mercy and St. James hospitals and by special arrangement in other Illinois hospitals. VITAS team members include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, hospice aides, physicians, social workers, chaplains and volunteers.
