Senior Vice President of Public Affairs
With more than a dozen years of hospice management and administrative responsibilities and 25 years of experience in legislative affairs and public policy and politics, Ron oversees public policy issues for VITAS at both the state and federal levels. On the business development side, Ron identifies and develops partnership opportunities with hospices and palliative care providers around the country, identifying mutually beneficial opportunities for growth and expansion.
Ron began at VITAS in 1988, first as a public policy consultant and then as director of development. Early in his career, he served on Capitol Hill as Legislative Assistant to U.S. Rep. Claude Pepper, public health policy advisor to former Florida Governor Bob Graham and National Finance Director for Senator Bob Kerrey’s 1992 campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Ron received his bachelor’s degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.
